Fill your home with the warm, inviting scent of apple, orange, cinnamon, star anise, rosemary, tulsi, bay leaf, goji berries, vanilla, and ginger. Created for the turning of the season, this fragrant simmer ritual invites you to honour what has carried you, remember those you love, and welcome what you want more of in your life. More rest. Deeper connection. Steady love. A little courage. As the evenings grow darker, take a moment to give thanks and call in the good.

The Meaning Behind the Blend

Each ingredient carries a symbolic intention chosen for this ritual, giving you something meaningful to reflect on as you prepare your pot.

Apple — Remembrance and gratitude. Honour the people, experiences, and gifts that have nourished your life, and carry their goodness forward.

Orange — Joy and possibility. Welcome moments of brightness, creativity, and pleasure as the evenings grow darker.

Cinnamon — Warmth and abundance. Call in a life that feels nourishing, with enough care, connection, and resources to support you.

Star Anise — Clarity and direction. Make space to hear your own wisdom and recognize the next step, even when the whole path is unclear.

Rosemary — Remembrance and protection. Remember those you love, honour your roots, and consider what you want to protect in your life.

Tulsi — Peace and devotion. Invite a quieter moment and reconnect with what deserves your time, attention, and care.

Bay Leaf — Intention and possibility. Give words to what you are calling in. Write on your leaf or speak your intention aloud before adding it to the pot.

Goji Berries — Vitality and nourishment. Welcome the experiences, relationships, and everyday care that help you feel more alive.

Vanilla — Comfort and sweetness. Make room for tenderness, simple pleasures, and the experience of receiving care.

Ginger — Courage and momentum. Honour your willingness to begin, and take a small step toward what you are calling in.

The Ritual

Set aside your two bay leaves before placing the remaining ingredients in a small pot.

Add enough water to cover the ingredients generously, and pause before turning on the heat.

Think about what has nourished or supported you this year. It might be a person, a place, an unexpected kindness, or a strength you discovered within yourself. On your first bay leaf, write a name or word that represents what you want to honour, or hold the leaf and speak it aloud.

Next, consider what you are calling into your life. Perhaps it is rest, courage, joy, connection, support, abundance, or belonging. Choose something that feels meaningful to you. Write it on your second bay leaf, or simply hold the leaf and speak your intention aloud.

Hold your first leaf and say, “I honour what has carried me. I bring its goodness forward.” Place it in the water. Hold your second leaf and say, “I welcome ______ into my life. May I notice it, receive it, and make room for it.” Add that leaf to the pot, too.

Bring the water to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low. As the fragrance rises, take a few quiet breaths and consider this question: “What is one small thing I can do to welcome what I’ve named?” You might accept an offer of help, invite someone over, make room for rest, or take a first step toward something you’ve wanted. Let your intention have a place in your everyday life.

If there is someone you are remembering this season, you might speak their name, share a story, or play a song they loved. Allow this moment to hold whatever is present for you: gratitude, longing, love, hope, or a little of each.

Let the warmth and fragrance accompany you as you welcome the season ahead.

Use and Care: For home fragrance and ritual use only. Do not consume. Keep the pot attended, replenish water as needed, and never allow it to boil dry. Keep hot water and ingredients out of reach of children and pets. Allow everything to cool completely before disposing of it.
