Class Descriptions
Intro to Yoga
This 30 minute class in informational in nature. You will learn different yoga terminology, what to wear, what to bring, what class will be the best fit for you, how to use props and what to expect your first class so that you are not feeling lost. The cost is $10 but you will leave with a free drop in for your first class. This is great for beginners.
Beginner Yoga
In this 12 week series you will learn all the basics of Yoga and many different types of class styles. This class is great for brand new students or long time students of yoga to get a refresher on the basics or to work on your alignment.This is a registered class but drop in’s are welcome. If you wish to register for the full session at a discounted rate please visit the enrollments section.
Beginner - Level 2
You asked for it, so we brought it! The next step in your yoga practice! Beginner Level 2! Pre-requisite is 12 week Beginner Yoga in the last 18 months or a solid yoga practice! We will be exploring deeper concepts, tougher asana and variations on what you have already learned.
Chair Yoga
Experience one the most gentle but still challenging forms of yoga available! Perfect for people who are looking for a safe, thorough workout that offers breath awareness and relaxation. We will incorporate chair and wall support in addition to modifications to suit individual needs.
Restore, Relax and Renew
This 75 minute class gives you a much needed break from the day to day busyness of life. This is a class of meditation and relaxation where you will use many yoga props to be the most comfortable in each pose. This is a must for anyone looking for stress relief and more relaxation. No previous meditation practice required . Suited for all body types and levels of fitness.
Yoga for Neck, Shoulders and Back
Do you have headaches, neck and shoulder pain or tension? Do you hunch over a computer all day and find yourself with pain in your shoulders, neck or upper back? This 8 week session may be for you! Join Rebecca Jansen in this accessible and effective workshop focusing on the neck shoulders, and upper back.Relieve tension, create space and learn helpful stretches you can perform throughout your day to help keep your upper body, open and pain free! Great for all levels.
Yoga for Hips and Low Back
Join us for this well-balanced gentle class where we will open the hips and low back. We tend to carry a lot of stress in her hips and lower back and if you sit a lot during the day this can also be a problem area. This class is mostly done on the floor and there is not a lot of up-and-down movement. Lots of stretching, releasing, and a little bit of strengthening to prevent future injuries. This class is great for all levels!
Yoga for Stress
Are you stressed out? Feeling too busy? Take some time out, just for you, and learn how to relax your body and mind. This gentle class incorporates many yoga tools such as breath techniques, gentle movement, supported relaxation, and guided meditation. This class gives you time to slow down, and learn to relax, so you can go back to your daily life calm and refreshed.
Go With the Flow
We are often asked ” I took the 12 week beginner class, now what?” Here is a really GREAT option! This is a flow class geared towards beginners. You will learn postures and then learn to flow within the posture with your breath. This is a great class if you with to find a little more movement and variations of postures. This is also a good class to help learn more about proper yoga breathing.
Deeper
This will be a gentle yin style class with gentle postures, subtle movement and deep stretching. You will learn to explore the body, spirit and mind on a deeper level by exploring yogic techniques such as Pranayama, chanting, meditation and more. Each week we will be looking at different parts of the 8 limbs of yoga and applying them to our body and our lives. If you are looking to take your yoga practice deeper, this may be the class for you.
Yin
In our Yin classes you will spend most of the time on the floor in deep stretch poses that you will hold for 3-7min. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of practice. Suited for all body types and levels of fitness. Would not be advisable for people with chronic hip or knee issues.
The Yin to Your Yang
Join us for this well balanced class that incorporates 2 core components of a balanced yoga practice. Gentle, mindful movement with breath and still long held postures. You will leave this class feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and balanced, ready to take on the rest of your day! Expect: A gentle warm up, gentle beginner flows for the first half of class and long held stretches and comfy stress reducing restorative postures for the second half of class.
Beyond Yoga
Challenge your yoga practice and go beyond the traditional. This class will focus on yoga and functional movement as a way to build strong and happy bodies. Create strength in the body to help prevent injury; increase range of motion and stability of joints and their surrounding musculature; and build endurance and optimize bodily function to age gracefully and live your best life. Everyone is welcome, but it is recommended you have some yoga experience to try this class
Kick-start Your Sunday
Join us for 60 min of gentle movements with moments of elevating your heart rate. Expect a full body stretch with strength and flow woven in. Good for beginners and advanced yogis alike, variations for different levels available.
Functional (Mobility) Body, Mindful Movements
Invite your body to experience movement in a different way. Using yoga, Pilates and mindful movement as inspiration, this class is a unique blend of micro movements, strength building, stability enhancing postures that will help create real change within the body! This is accessible to all bodies, abilities and levels, but expect to feel you muscles!
Myo-Fascial Release with Balls and More!
Do you sit at a desk all day? Do you experience constant stiffness? Join us for a 8-part series to learn about fascia and the benefits of self-myofascial rolling. Using YogaTuneUp Balls we will work into restricted tissues to relieve nagging aches and return to a comfortable range of movement. We will visit the feet, lower legs, glutes, lower back, shoulders and neck. NO yoga experience required. All props supplied.
Yoga Nidra
When stress and tension build up in our bodies and minds, we feel irritable, distracted, exhausted. It is nearly impossible to wind down. We crave a way to make life feel a little lighter and more manageable. We need to relax. Relaxation is an antidote to stress. When our bodies and minds are supported in a quiet, restful state, our pent up anxiety, stress, and discomfort begins to ease. We will unwind from your week, with a gentle warm up, unwinding the body and the mind. Then we build your own personal "nest", the place where you will find deep rest and deep nourishment through the guided meditation and restoration practice of Yoga Nidra. (Yoga Sleep) This is a practice that involves getting comfortable as possible with little to no movement and uses the mind to help you to achieve deep rest.
Family Yoga - Parent and Child
This is a 6 week class for a parent and a child to experience a yoga class together. The goal of this class is for parents and children to get exercise together. The age range for the children should be between 6-11 but exceptions can be made.
